Jonathon Reynolds is an event management specialist and lists several benefits of using Enterprise Social Networking Software for managing your event. We’ll elaborate on those points using Sueetie as our social networking platform of choice.
- Speed to market. You don’t build a social networking site from scratch. Neither can you add social networking capabilities to an existing site in minutes, but you can install Sueetie in literally minutes.
- Branding and customization. The community you build around a product, business or event is set apart from the sea of facebook pages. Sueetie’s global theming model is meant to speed up the customization process to get you online more quickly with your own branded site so you can focus on other things.
- Membership management. Using Sueetie for an event gives you the ability to collect dues and renew memberships with Sueetie Marketplace. You can also define membership status through community automated engagement metrics like discussion entries. More membership points and status features are planned for Sueetie v4.1.
- Build Private Communities. Sueetie v4.0 does not support private groups, but it does support the creation of private wiki namespaces, media galleries, blogs, forums and walls.
- Social Media Content Sharing. BlogEngine.NET supports a variety of social bookmarking and sharing plugins. Many sharing features are coming in YetAnotherForum.NET 1.9.6, which should be go RTM in time for Sueetie v4.1.
- Real-time Messaging. Sueetie Forums (YetAnotherForum.NET) support real-time chat and Personal Messaging. Sueetie Notifications display popups to other online users whenever any member creates new content. Nearly every content type in Sueetie supports RSS and email notification services. Even Wiki Page Discussion messages generate notification emails. More messaging features are planned.
- Promotional Codes and Discounts to Members. With Sueetie Analytics you can determine your most active users and reward them accordingly. Sueetie Analytics will be a primary development area in v4.1.
There’s another feature set in Sueetie that was not mentioned in the author’s list about event management. Sueetie includes Community Calendars and Event Management, with integration of all site content with any calendar. Click on an event and you retrieve a blog, wiki page, any type of content with more information. Sueetie also includes a number of Event List controls making it easy to display events by type, chronologically or other criteria.
With Enterprise functionality like Active Directory Integration and Multiple Communities coming in Sueetie v4.0, our In the Enterprise Series intends to provide you with an interesting roundup of news, commentary and best practices for successfully using Sueetie in the Enterprise.
