We Moved!

by News Pop 31. January 2013 14:22

Sueetie.com has moved!  In response to our announcement that Sueetie was closing up shop we received so much wonderful support that we decided to do whatever we could to keep Sueetie alive.  Brian Davis made that extremely easy for us by offering free web hosting for all Sueetie operations.

Brian’s web hosting company is called Bloggers Online with a focus on BlogEngine.NET hosting.  You’ll find it at http://bloggersonline.com/.  We were blown away by the extent and quality of the services Bloggers Online supported, so we didn’t waste any time.

Part of Sueetie Restructuring going forward was to get rid of our Dedicated Windows Server to support Sueetie, as we could no longer afford it.  You will now be experiencing Sueetie.com running in a shared host environment as opposed to a dedicated server.  It will be a good test to see how Sueetie performs in a more common environment, since most Sueetie Communities are used on Shared Servers.

Please help us confirm that everything is working smoothly.  Timezone settings, email notifications, downloads, image displays, and anything else you can think of.

Again, Thank you, Brian Davis and Bloggers Online for helping us keep Sueetie alive with such an excellent hosting service!

About Sueetie Blogs

Sueetie Blogs are written and managed by the Sueetie News and Marketing Team. Posts are published under the account "News Pop" which is a shared account used by our team. Because we're a bunch of lollipops here at Sueetie HQ, News Pop stands for News Lollipop.

Well, timezone, even though I always had it set to UTC-5:00, it was always an hour ahead as displayed on the forums and everywhere else it seemed like.  Yet, on a default installation of Sueetie, at least in my test environment over here, I have the same setting, and it displays the right time.

Ahh, yes. We've been playing with that. Timezones are a tricky business, especially considering Sueetie and each app handles timezone calculations a bit differently.  We'll continue to monitor and TZ tweak.  Thanks.

Very interesting.  I never would have thought of it.  Though a lot of sites powered by YAF have this same timezone issue.
