Demo of Media Gallery Blog Post Thumbnails at DBVT.COM

by News Pop 14. June 2011 20:26

Blog Post Thumbnails are one of the new Sueetie Version 3.2 Addon Pack features, where you can display thumbnails of different types on BlogEngine.NET post lists.  The different types of thumbnails supported are a default image per blog, author avatar, the first image contained in the post, post attachment, image based on the post’s category, and finally, a random image from your Media Gallery based on albums you select.

On the Sueetie News Blog we’re using thumbnails based on the post category.  The thumbnail type on display at DBVT.COM is random gallery image. I’ve got a ton of Walking the Dog albums in my DBVT.COM Photo Gallery, so I thought I’d go seasonal with last summer’s dog walks where you’ll see a number of Gus photos while he was still a pup.  (If you’re a regular DBVT.COM visitor, please reload the post list page to get the new stylings.)

Something new about the implementation here and coming in Sueetie v3.3 is the new media path properties used to display the thumbnail rather than the Gallery Server Pro Image Handler.  And you know what that means.  That’s right.  Lightboxes!!!  Each thumbnail can be displayed on a lightbox. (Better viewing of Gus that way.)

I’ll provide the technical goods on using the new properties on the Sueetie Thumbnail Addon How-To.  In the meantime, please enjoy my Summer 2010 walks with Gus!
