Announcing a new Sueetie.com blog: The Business of Community

by Dave Burke 17. February 2010 18:51

I launched a new Sueetie.com blog called The Business of Community.  I hope you consider subscribing.  The focus of the new blog is on growing, managing and marketing online communities. I’ve been debating how to repurpose a series on my home blog titled Everyman Links for some time now, and The Business of Community blog is the perfect place to share Everyman information about SEO, marketing, branding and online community development.

The Business of Community is more than a repost blog of 255 character snippets.  Each Business of Community post is based on an Everyman link item then builds on the topic in a way that the abbreviated format of Everyman doesn't allow. The Business of Community also serves to market my chops in other Online Community areas beyond the mere technical. Finally, I’ve been wanting to demonstrate how well a Sueetie Community accommodates multiple blogs. The Business of Community will share the spotlight at Sueetie.com with the Sueetie News Blog. "Yeah, back in 2010 Sueetie.com only had two blogs, now look at her!"

This new blog is different than any of my other blogs in that each post contains a Creative Commons photo with attribution, and an author bio of Yours Truly. Darn good looking, too.  No, not the author photo necessarily, but everything else.

Since launching the site over the weekend I’ve written five posts. If you’re familiar with Everyman Links you’ll be able to quickly see how Everyman contributes yet how a Business of Community post stands alone.  As an example of that relationship, the first Business of Community post is titled Optimizing Community Content.  The original Everyman Link item was titled “Digital Asset Optimization.”  The Business of Community post changes the focus of the topic to Online Community digital assets and lists examples of how I optimize content at Sueetie.com.

I may or may not provide weekly summaries of Business of Community posts, but here is a summary of the first five posts.
